well i guess you could say that this morning started last night. last night as my entire schedule was thrown for a loop, the great husband said "it's going to rain tomorrow." me: "you're still going to wake up though. and when you do you'll wake me up and then we'll start our usual routine." him: "nope. i'm going to wake up at 7:37 and you're going to bring me coffee."
... well.. one of us sure woke up at 7:37. me. which made for some rushing around this morning. which always makes for some interesting stories.
1. i forgot how our new tv works so i turned on the ps4. that got his attention.
2. because i just got my hair cut again and she told me to use paste in my hair to keep it doing the things i want it to, i put this stuff in that's called spike glue. because that's what we have and it seems like a paste consistency. negative. it seems like a glue consistency. now i can't run my hands through my hair. i can't run a brush threw my hair. i might as well have just stuck some gum in it.
3. my outfit is acceptable.
4. i didn't eat breakfast.
5. i left my house late. i need a clock in my bathroom.
6. because i woke up so late, usually i have a chance to drink a cup of before work. since that didn't happen and i was rushing around, i tried to put the coffee pot back where the cups go.
7. it's raining.
8. as i'm rushing down the hallway, trying to figure out how to get my umbrella to work (again sans coffee in my mouth) i spilled probably 1/4 of my sole cup of coffee on my favorite skirt.
9. i didn't end up getting my umbrella open before getting to my car. but i also kinda hoped that some how the rain would wash out the glue. not so much.
10. as i'm leaving my parking lot with no coffee in my system, no breakfast, a lap filled with the coffee i wish was in my mouth, i turn my car around and there's another car. just sitting there. making it so i can't get out of the stinkin' driveway. lady - people have places to go. we're not just hanging out so we can see your benz.
so there you have it folks. another day, another glued hair, lack of coffee, stained skirt, irritable situation. what would make my day perfect is if for whatever reason my boss was like you know what? today - you can go home. just go home. save your skirt and your hair and we'll see you when the rain stops. until then...

oh weekend.
today is going to be an interesting day. i've already tried to put my lipstuff in my coffee and tried to open the office with my apartment key. it can only get better from here right?
i was going to do a NSA recap today, however, i thought maybe i'd do a long weekend recap instead. i mean, this is all just to keep my mind straight in my old age anyhow, isn't it? plus who wants to work with numbers first thingmonday - i mean tuesday morning. see. completely thrown for a loop.
friday i started my weekend early. i just had to wait for a motion to get delivered to court and then i was out of here. i probably should have gone to the beach or something but instead i think i napped and cleaned and did a whole uber lot of nothing. it's pretty bad when the beach (lake) is less than a mile or two from your house and yet the traffic is so bad you don't want to go. welcome to mitt romney town. anyhow, when the huzz got home we chillaxed a bit and then went on wine/sub date. we lead such exciting lives. i tried to go to the library but - can you believe it? they close at 5 on friday. so... i'm not sure what i did for the rest of my night. i did my "exercises" and watched some tv i guess.
saturday i got up and went out in service, stopped by the office to say hi to jon, went home to find huzz invisible so i had to track him down, decided to walk to the post office to see if my uo package was there (no- and although the post office is open til 3 the window is not. so what's the point of being open? junk mail? no thank you.) then i walked to the library again. i got two books. one i came home and started reading and was totally blown away by how much my conscience has changed in the last few years. i couldn't read it. and the other one.. well it's kinda boring. i wanted to be transported to a fantasy world outside my own and i was not impressed. plus my mood can take form based on what i'm watching/reading so i think being put in the mind of an overweight girl who has no interests and not many friends and whose parents decide to try and buy her a love of reading just wasn't the right mood i wanted to be in. which lead to a funk. so when the opportunity to go to my in laws arose i took it. and the ribs. man, they were delish. oh, and i started cooking the crockpot pork which i set all up and then forgot to turn on. oops. good thing we had ribs. oh and i forgot my phone (because of the huzz) at his parents... so that was weird. not that we're too attached to the phone but when you don't have something you seem to need it more. OH AND I GOT A BAG OF NEW SHOES! SO EXCITING!!
sunday i thought it was saturday all day.except that we went to the meeting. which should have solidified that it was sunday but it didn't. afterward, my cousin had a bbq at his house that i'd never been to so i went to spend time with them which was fun. the long and windy drive home was not so fun. i was very thankful to have monday off. we slept in (til 9:15!) and then got bored around 10:30 and went to walmart (bad idea) then i continued my funk, finished my pork, made Cinnamon Sugar Bread all the while sweating like you would not believe (not in the bread. the bread is delicious btdub). i think i need to go for a run. running is the only thing that makes me feel normal and when i don't do it for a while i get all sorts of funky. but i can't. until tomorrow. remind me to go for a nice long run tomorrow. oh. and remind the weather to stop being a humidasaurus. thanks. back to yesterday... we finished the day by going to our friend's house (beautiful) for dinner (awesome) and playing a game (fact or crap. i just wanted to yell out crap. it was pretty fun. for most of us. maybe not to sir competitive.)
overall, i could use a vacation but i'll take what i can get and right now ... apparently that's all i got.

middlebury maple half
otherwise known as the sweetest half.
the middlebury maple half was beautiful. from the description i was nervous going out to it. (i was nervous anyhow. i mean, this would be my first half marathon where i was not going to be home the night before, i would not have anything that i was used to around me and my first half marathon where hills were even an issue) i guess thinking that vermont hills were so much worse than new hampshire hills. maybe the people they were really warning were mass people. or flat landers. but the best part about the run was the scenery. and the rolling hills.
i find that hills tend to be an achievement. like once you get to the top of a hill you get to breathe a sigh of relief and know that you totally conquered that hill.
we ran past wild flowers and green green green fields with cows and horses and old barns and stone buildings. i think the worst part about it was when we ran down this long dirt road past barns and that was only bad because you knew when you got to the end of the road you had to come all the way back. plus it was after mile 8. who likes anything past mile 8?
that and it was more so in the sun. and at 77 degrees my pale pale pale new hampshire skin was not happy. i had sweat salt getting in my eyes.
i always finish my races knowing i could have done better. i could have tried harder. pushed harder. trained better. left more on the course. i think running with debbie was a challenge because running is always a competition. even if it's just with yourself. no matter what it's hard not to compare yourself to others and debbie is no different. having her compare herself to others and knowing that i was holding her back was hard. it's nice having someone there to keep you going but it's hard knowing that you're the reason they aren't doing their best. and knowing that there really isn't anything you can do about it. this race, i probably walked about a mile and a half. and when i was pulling into that finish line i knew that i probably could have pushed a little harder and gone a little fast but for the most part - more than ever before - i had left it out there.
and that i really wanted to jump into a huge lake and cool down.
oh, and i pr'd. what up two hours and twenty six minutes. nice to have you here.

on my wish list
seriously in love with this shirt.
as we're one day away from the beginning of spring and yet getting dumped on by 8- 16" more white stuff i'm living in my dream land where it's warm and i'm not wearing 18 layers of clothing inside just to stay a little bit warm..

pseudo spring break
dear friends,
a couple of days ago, i read this blog post by bethany from b-soup.

in which she discusses the fact that she took this picture not in the warmth which it possesses but in 34* temps. now, i love bethany. she inspires me to wear my pom-poms proud but seriously girl?! (love you!) you don't know cold. if in 34* weather you are still able to even think about sandals, it's not that bad. and (as the wind howls outside my office - howls. rips through your soul.) she has the nerve to discuss her lack of tan. here in new hampshire, i'm pretty sure we're all transparent. unfortunately, this is not an exaggeration.
